Our Worship: An Encounter with the Spirit

Join Us for Worship

Weekly Worship Services

Join us every Saturday for Sabbath worship services at Ruwe Headquarters and churches throughout our Dioceses & Pastorates.

Our theology is distinctive for its pneumatological focus: the Holy Spirit (Roho) is the central locus of divine revelation, healing, and ecclesial authority. We emphasize the experiential knowledge of the Spirit.

When you worship with us, you are joining a sacred space where prophetic utterance, spirit possession, and communal testimony are normative practices.

Our Liturgical Life

Dhoroho: The Language of the Spirit

One of our most conspicuous religious innovations is the Dhoroho liturgical practice.

What it is:

Often described as the "language of the Spirit" Dhoroho is a liturgical register that comprises hymns, creeds, and formulas.

Its Origin:

Dhoroho language was revealed to Paulo Rang'enga Ojoro shortly after the Musanda martyrdom.

Its Function:

It encodes our doctrinal memory, structures our worship, and functions as a shared identity marker that is passed down to our children.

Healing and Prophetic Ministry

Healing ministry and prophetic acts are central to Ruwe worship. Our evangelistic meetings emphasize:

Exorcism of Evil Spirits

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we cast out evil spirits and restore spiritual freedom.

Prayer for the Sick

We believe in divine healing through prayer, laying on of hands, and the power of the Roho.

Prophetic Guidance

The Holy Spirit speaks through prophetic utterances to guide and direct our community.

Healing practices employ Dhoroho songs, the laying on of hands, communal fasting, and public sin confession to secure divine intervention. Women play a central spiritual role in this ministry as healers (laktar) and prophetic mediums.

Our Practices and Moral Codes

Ruwe places a high value on strict religious observance and moral conduct.

Sabbath Observance

We observe the Sabbath on Saturday, dedicating this day to worship, rest, and spiritual renewal.

Moral Prohibitions

We adhere to strict moral codes, which historically forbid alcohol, tobacco, and secular music/dancing.

Fasting

Communal fasts are a key practice, often preceding major events to seek the Spirit's favor or prophetic clarity.
